Features & Benefits
Precast concrete gravity grease interceptors remove solids and impurities from wastewater before it enters the sewage system. The primary pollutants grease interceptors remove are fats, oils, and grease (FOG). Through the process of sedimentation, FOG and other pollutants settle at the bottom of the tank while debris free wastewater enters the sewage system.
It’s necessary to remove FOG from wastewater because it can lead to bellies in pipes, dislodged joints, sanitary overflows, and problems at water treatment facilities. That’s why municipalities require food service establishments (FSEs) to install and manage precast concrete gravity grease interceptors, effectively preventing destructive damage and costly repairs.
Jensen Precast watertight gravity grease interceptors and separators are produced at NPCA approved plants and follow the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). In addition, a selection of Jensen Precast gravity grease interceptors are listed by The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to standard Z1001.
This 500 gallon grease interceptor utilizes two access openings at each end of the top slab with optional risers to heighten the lid, 4 inch or 6 inch inlet and outlet sizes, is HS-20 rated, and has a minimum bury depth of 1.1 feet and a maximum bury depth of 6 feet.
Many factors including population density, available space, establishment hours, peak meal time, dishwasher flow rate, storage capabilities, groundwater situation, and more affect how the size of a grease interceptor is determined.
