StormVault is unique from other products in the market in many ways, the most notable being that it is designed to mitigate downstream erosion and watershed degradation through detaining and slowly releasing the flow from each storm event, offering both stormwater treatment and volume control in a single structure.

In a properly sized and installed StormVault, the detention time is optimized to promote sedimentation of particles less than 70 microns. The StormVault collects and holds pollutants commonly targeted in stormwater regulations, such as trash, floatable debris, oil and grease, low solubility petroleum hydrocarbons, sediments, metals, nitrogen, phosphorus, and other organic compounds. Effluent is released at a controlled rate, enabling StormVault to provide both volume control and stormwater treatment.
