Global Tech Company Campus Gets 16 Foot Diameter Manholes
Mountain View, California
The picture perfect Bay View Campus in Mountain View, California, is home to a global technology company with endless growth potential. The massive mixed use development includes offices, housing, restaurants, and retail shops for employees. The facility needed significant infrastructure solutions to keep the campus running at maximum levels.
Working with the contractor, Jensen Precast contributed four stormwater pump stations to be deployed inside two 16’ diameter manholes, one 12′ diameter manhole, and one 5′ diameter structure. The pump stations, with a capacity of 14,600 gpm (32-cfs), were built by Jensen Water Resources in Sparks, Nevada. The 16′ products were custom cast at the Jensen Precast manufacturing facility in Lockeford, California.
“Casting manholes this large takes strong collaboration and specialized expertise from our teams,” says Jayme Salo, Jensen Precast Pump Stations Product Manager. “Everyone performed at the highest levels, and we’re pleased to deliver our first 16’ diameter manholes to contractors who continue to put their trust in our products and services.”
The manholes for Bay View were cast in two parts for ease of shipping and assembly. The patented pieces are waterproof and suitable for pump station operations, stormwater and sewer systems, and underground storage capabilities. The 16’ products required new forms for casting the concrete, which Jensen Precast now uses for a variety of customers requiring manholes sized for large jobs.
